B16A Install Questions

Place Racing actually. But Hasport is better than HCP. I really prefer Place Racing now because that's all they make there money from is the hybrid mounts and install parts....I just had seen a B16A install with there parts and I liked it too...rode very well.

I really liked the throttle linkage repositioning bracket Place sells....allows you to use the Si throttle linkage instead of getting the rather large integra B18A 90-93 linkage.

jon..i'll probably end up emailing you when i do my swap in about a month, but something i was curious about..how does the wiring match up with a 5 series b16a, PW0 ecu, and the 89 si harness? i know i need to add the vtec wires..i played it safe and got the hasport wires..but are all the other ecu wires the same? also, i was wondering..the SiR gauge cluster doesn't use a cable speedo, so w/ an SiR cluster and a y1 tranny, would i have to run wires from the vss in the tranny straight to the cluster? how does that work? thanks man

...very few differences.

...That's what I recommend is buying there subharness for $70 bucks if your doing the install yourself. Just ziptie it along the Si harness and your set. I beleive they give you directions also - or they should.

...Truthfully, I don't know. I think there are two or three wires that run there....but I do know the VSS is relocated to the tranny on the SiR and 92+ model civics. However I really never wanted to get that deep into all the wiring for that. Sorry, no idea of anyone that would know either? However I would say one thing about the VSS piece on the Tranny...my SiR's VSS never went out but a friends did! And they are very ahrd to come by in Okinawa. Not sure about stateside, but they do throw a code 17 or something - speed sensor. But that's about all my knowledge on those.

I'm looking for a good deal on Y2LSD S80 tranny mounts (one of them is a tranny/motor mount)

My friend has a B18c6 swapped in his 4th gen but the ITR tranny won't fit on the B16 mounts (what surprised us both)

There are some problems with providing enough clearance for the tranny to move around safely.. but that will be taken care off (see pic)

Well I don't know entirely too much about the B18C tranny/Type-R Tranny installs into the 4G 88-91 models. However I do know this (and it will help you deduct some reason). The B18C1 and B18C5 have the same rear mount....and I would also imagine the same is true for the Civic Del Sol VTEC models and Civic SiR models since your in europe. The DOHC VTEC Trannies for 92+ I beleive share all the same rear mounts. However I am not certain of the regular B18B Integra Models....these might be more of flat torque mount instead of what your looking for.

I can look at that today and see. However I beleive I have a B18C1 GSR Rear Mount on hand somewhere in my parts.

What kind of kit did you use and what hydro adaptor are you using as well? just interested.

He didn't use the ITR tranny since there is no mount, but we would have used the ITR pedals.

Speedo sensor: the Y2 mechanic speedo sensor fits in the ITR tranny or we would have had to swap the ITR dashboard as well

He now uses the SiR's Y2 (yes they came on EDM SiR) tranny for now. Perhaps he's gonna have an aftermarket LSD installed or the ITR LSD fitted inside his Y2 tranny (it can)

Lot's of work to swap this engine.. it's much easier to drop in a GSR B18c1 (which uses the B16 ECU) and build up the block..

But then again you couldn't put a type R badge on the car now would you?
